  • Oregon Coast Paddling Trip - Out the river into the sea.

    Here's an enjoyable kayaking video showing off the beautiful Oregon Coast - Watch as these kayakers paddle the Salmon River estuary through the surf into the Pacific ocean, around Three Rocks and Cascade Head. 
    I'm especially intrigued by what must be a waterproof video camera mounted on one of the kayaks.  Viewing those kayak rolls full circle is cool. (…)

    If you are into kayaking, you've likely noticed that even the simplest kayak accessories can be costly. 
    Now, don't get me wrong.  Things like a good floatation vest, kayak helmet, and kayak paddles warrant the price we must pay for quality in materials and construction, and it's highly adviseable that you do not cut corners on these items just to save a few bucks. 
    But it's the little things - like a fishing rod safety leash or paddle keeper, scupper plugs for sit on tops, kayak anchors, etc - that don't require expensive materials and state-of-the-art technology to be highly serviceable and do the job nicely.   Yet these things are not cheap in the kayak shops and boating supply stores, and often nickel and dime a kayaker to death before the boat ever gets wet.
